After the overwhelming success of the previous two editions, welcoming more than 75,000 visitors, the light art festival Zeelicht will return this year from 5 to 12 December 2026. Zeelicht has proven to be more than a cultural event: it is a moment of connection for residents, visitors and entrepreneurs, especially during the dark months outside the high season.
The light artworks create a stage for meeting, wonder and pride, supported by broad involvement from the community. What makes Zeelicht truly special is that it is deeply rooted in the region. Residents report feeling newly connected to their surroundings, while entrepreneurs benefit from a better spread of visitor flows. The strength of the festival lies in its collective creation: artists, associations and local groups work together on a programme that inspires and connects. The impact online is also significant, with images of Zeelicht shared thousands of times and reaching an international audience. Interest continues to grow, as does the number of grassroots initiatives — a clear sign that Zeelicht is firmly embedded in local society. With full conviction, we continue to build on this tradition. Zeelicht 2026 once again promises a week filled with light, art and connection, by and for the community.
