St. Bewaerschole presenteert: Zandhonger van Eva Spierenburg

Zandhonger is a sensory installation by artist Spierenburg, bringing together image, material, and sound. Through so-called dune skins, wall paintings, and a layered soundscape, he approaches the landscape as a living body. In the shelter of the Zeeland Delta, artists explore how people and landscapes continuously shape and influence one another. The exhibition invites visitors to look differently: with greater attention, through bodily experience, and with a deeper awareness of the earth beneath our feet—something we are part of and for which we share responsibility.

The exhibition reflects the vision of the Bewaerschole, where the strength of the periphery takes center stage. At a time when much cultural attention is focused on the Randstad, the Bewaerschole demonstrates the value of a place on the margins. From Burgh-Haamstede, artists from the Netherlands and abroad are given the freedom to experiment, innovate, and push boundaries. The Zeeland Delta serves as a living laboratory: a landscape in constant transformation that mirrors the challenges and developments of our time.
