The Van der Maas family's company has been around since the 1960s. They started selling fruit from their orchard out of the barn. Nowadays, they are part of the Landwinkel cooperative. Lenie says, "That's why we have a wide range of products, and because you essentially buy together, you know where the products come from. It feels good." So, the store offers not only vegetables and fruits but also cheese, sweets, honey, juices, and personal care products, among others. "And let's not forget fruit baskets and gift packages," adds Lenie. "These can be customized according to your preferences."

In 1988, a mini-campground was added to the business. Rini explains, "It started with 10 spots and now there are 25. They are very nice, peaceful places. The interesting thing is that the presence of guests always brings life to the yard. They also enjoy taking a look in the orchard." Rini strives to create an optimal climate in the orchard. The bee colonies he has certainly contribute to that. Their honey is also available for sale in the store. And they are also engaged in organic farming now. "It's quite a bit of work and a change, but it's also very satisfying."

In the future, their son Michiel and his wife Anne will take over the business. They're already involved in the operations. Rini says, "It's an adjustment because you have to coordinate everything more together. But it's going well. And it's really nice to work together with the family like this.
