Molen De Korenbloem Zonnemaire

The Korenbloem is a windmill in Zonnemaire, built in 1872 to replace an old mill that burned down. The new mill is located in a different spot, because new laws at the time prohibited the construction of mills near roads. Over the years, the mill has been modernized and had several owners. After the Flood of 1953, the mill was in poor condition and was sold in 1961 to a development company that wanted to demolish it for holiday homes. This plan was eventually abandoned and the mill was restored in 1990.
