Visserhuusje
In the heart of the mussel village of Bruinisse, you’ll find the Heritage Room, part of Brusea. This monumental fisherman’s house offers a unique glimpse into the daily life of a Zeeland fisherman and his family in the 18th century. Everything breathes the atmosphere of the past: from the authentic interior to original furniture and utensils.
The house itself is special – one of the few in Bruinisse that survived the Second World War. Real fishermen once lived here, earning their living from mussel fishing – a craft still deeply rooted in the identity of the village.
The Heritage Room is more than a museum – it’s a place to experience. Schools and children can book educational visits or unique birthday parties. History truly comes alive in Bruinisse.
