Dedicated to Education and Community
Adriaan Heule (February 12, 1911 – March 12, 1986) became head teacher of the primary school in Sirjansland in 1943 and remained in this role until his retirement in 1976. Besides his work, he was deeply involved in village life. For many years he chaired the ‘Sirjansland Vooruit’ association and the korfball club ‘Door Eendracht Sterk,’ and participated in the travel club ‘Ons Genoegen’ and the reading group ‘Sir-Lecke.’ In 1977, he was knighted in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
