Off-leash area Ouwerkerk
The creek area of Ouwerkerk, like the Schelphoek, was formed after the North Sea Flood of 1953. When the dikes were closed, the water remained in these places, creating beautiful natural areas. Dogs are allowed off-leash on the white hiking route near the Oostkreek in Ouwerkerk. This is the area north of the Baalpapenweg.
