Viane

Viane is a former hamlet located directly on the shores of the Oosterschelde, near Bruinisse on Schouwen-Duiveland. Although today it consists of only a few buildings and dikes, the area still exudes the atmosphere of the past. Viane once played an important role in the region's agricultural life. Local farmers transported their sugar beets by horse and cart to the small harbor of Viane, where the beets were weighed, collected, and shipped to processing sites such as Dinteloord.

Viane stands as a silent witness to the past and is a hidden gem for those who love history, open landscapes, and natural beauty. It is a place where you can pause — both literally and figuratively — and reflect on the rhythm of earlier times, when horses clattered along the dikes and ships waited in the harbor for their cargo.
