John says, "At our place, you can enjoy traditionally prepared dishes from the Italian kitchen. We make our pizza dough from scratch, we don't buy it pre-made. Every winter, we critically assess our menu and make adjustments. The foundation is classic, but we also follow trends."

Although John's father was from Zeeland, his mother came from Sicily. So, the Italian kitchen was ingrained in him from an early age. Marjolein explains how they divide the roles in the family business: "John is in the kitchen, and I manage the service. Our children also help out where needed. Everyone has their own role, and that works best." The pizzeria has a cozy atmosphere, with around 50 indoor seats and around 35 outdoor seats. John and Marjolein find this setup the most enjoyable to work with. "This way, we can give guests the attention they deserve. And, we also work most efficiently like this."
The couple considers themselves natural-born entrepreneurs, even though they didn't have their own business their entire working lives. Nevertheless, they wouldn't want it any other way now. They take pleasure in pampering their guests. John says, "We do this with love and passion and maintain a positive outlook. We don't see problems, only challenges. Plus, we love the warmth and conviviality that this place brings. We always meet a lot of wonderful people.
