Jachthaven en watersportvereniging Burghsluis

Welcome to Jachthaven Burghsluis, the cozy marina located on the south coast of Schouwen-Duiveland on the Oosterschelde. With 58 available berths for visitors, there is always space to moor.

Blauwe Bolwerk

Discover the history of the Blue Bolwerk: the only remaining bastion for protecting the harbor entrance from the 16th century, with a passage to the Westhavendijk created in 1817.

Molen De Haan

Discover the unique Molen De Haan: a special ground-sailer built in 1724 on the Noordwal. Originally a low platform mill, but later lowered to a ground-sailer. After restoration in 1965, it is now a vacation home.

Kerkwerve

Kerkwerve is a village on Schouwen-Duiveland with around 990 inhabitants. It originated around 1200 during the diking of Schouwen. The church is built on a mound, which explains the name. Until 1997, Kerkwerve was part of Middenschouwen and has a historic municipal coat of arms.

Hervormde Kerk Haamstede

The Reformed Church Haamstede is a beautiful church building from 1506. A church service takes place every Sunday at 10:00 AM, and the church is also easily accessible for people with disabilities.

Getijdenpoel

The tidal pool in Bruinisse lets you explore the sea life of the Oosterschelde up close. At low tide, you’ll spot crabs, shrimp, small fish, and anemones in shallow pools. Bring a net and go exploring at the foot of the dike. Fun for families and nature lovers!

Corneliuskerk Noordwelle

Standbeeld Jacob Viergever

Jacob Viergever was a conservationist from Serooskerke who dedicated his life to birds, plants, and shells. Originally a teacher, he became a true expert on nature. He shared his knowledge through publications, lectures, and excursions.

Meestoof Willem Drie

Discover the traditional "Meestoof Willem III" from 1863, originally intended for the processing of madder root. The "meestoof" has a unique and traditional style and structure.

Standbeeld Adriaan en Janneko Heule

Adriaan and Janneko Heule were dedicated to education and community life in Sirjansland. Their commitment to the school and village is forever honored with a bronze statue by Vincent Krans, donated by the Renesse Foundation.
