Zonnemaire

Zonnemaire is a small village with around 755 inhabitants. The name originates from "Sonnemare," referring to the water between the islands of Bommenede and Schouwen. "Sonne" stands for south and "Mare" means water. One of Zonnemaire’s most famous historical residents is Pieter Zeeman.

Molen De Lelie Scharendijke

Brouwershaven

The sisters Kaatje and Kootje grew up in Burgh and together ran the famous hotel-restaurant Westenschouwens Welvaren in the heart of Westenschouwen for their entire lives. They were known for their cooking skills and warm hospitality — even Princess Irene loved to dine there.

Renesse

Varreput

The Varreput, located near the Dikke Toren in Zierikzee, was once used as a rinsing place for fabrics. Woven materials were then stretched out on nearby streets to dry on special frames, known as "ramen." This site is a reminder of the city's rich textile history.

Zeil- & Surfcentrum Brouwersdam

Welcome to our Sailing & Surf Center at the Brouwersdam! From April to November, we offer windsurfing and sailing courses, and SUP activities. After the summer, we transform into a winter sports resort by the sea with ski and snowboard lessons and equipment maintenance.

Strand Grevelingendam Noordzijde
