Krekengebied Ouwerkerk

Discover the Ouwerkerk Creek area with the vibrant blue kingfisher, little swans, and woodpeckers. Enchanting colors of samphire and orchids make it a wonderful destination for nature lovers.

Schuddebeurs

The forests of Schuddebeurs may be small, but they’re full of variety. Majestic oaks, beeches, hawthorns, and pines set the tone. A peaceful place for a scenic walk surrounded by birdsong and greenery.

Renesse

Renesse is the vibrant tourist heart of Schouwen-Duiveland. With wide beaches, lively beach pavilions, shops, and scenic walking routes, there is always something to enjoy. The fairytale-like Moermond Castle completes the picture. Renesse has something for everyone and never disappoints.

Scharendijke

Het Koepeltje Scharendijke

The Koepeltje in Scharendijke is a historic lookout post with a beautiful view over the Grevelingenmeer. Visitors can hike to this sheltered location and enjoy the impressive landscape.

Zouten en Zoeten Haard

The Zouten en Zoeten Haard area is located on the eastern dunes of Renesse. This name refers to the sea influences and the fact that it is part of the inner dune area.

Cameramuseum

The Camera Museum in Zierikzee showcases the history of photography with over 4,000 cameras, a working darkroom, and a 1910 photo studio. Have your picture taken in traditional Zeeland costume and discover the magic of imagery. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 1:00–5:00 PM.

Standbeeld Cornelis Adrianus Swenne

Cor Swenne was headmaster and conductor in Ouwerkerk. Music was his great passion. Born in Sprang, he grew up in a musical family and later became known as a dedicated teacher and musical leader.

Nieuwerkerk

Nieuwerkerk is a classic village with the church at its centre. The village has 2,800 residents and is known for its excellent amenities. In addition to a bakery and butcher, it offers two large supermarkets, a hardware store, a greengrocer and a cheese shop.

De Slikken van Bommenede

Discover the bird richness of De Slikken van Bommenede, the breeding ground for rare and endangered bird species in the Grevelingen. This versatile area outside the dike houses dozens of breeding birds.

Strand Rotonde

The family and sports beach Rotonde at the foot of the Oosterscheldekering near Westenschouwen. This beach is wide and accessible via "the stairs". Enjoy the sun, sea and sports activities on the beach.

Nieuwe Kerk Zierikzee

Discover the New Church Zierikzee, a remarkable 19th-century monument in the center of Zierikzee, replacing a large cathedral that burned down in 1832. This beautiful church attracts many tourists annually.

Standbeeld hondje Bläsz

Bläsz, the brave little dog from Scharendijke, saved dozens of cows and calves during the 1953 North Sea Flood by driving them to the dike. His heroic deed is commemorated with a statue on Bethlehemplein, donated by the Renesse Foundation.

Dorpsstrand Jachthaven Bruinisse

Jachthaven Bruinisse village beach is an atmospheric recreational area in Zeeland with a beach and marina. Enjoy peace, nature, and watersports, or take a walk along the water. A versatile spot for relaxation and activities on Lake Grevelingen.

A relatively unknown diving spot in Zeeland, yet still an interesting one. From the small spit of land on your left, you can easily enter the water. The seabed is covered with stones from old dike reinforcements.

Oosterland

Oosterland is a charming village with around 2,300 inhabitants, located between Bruinisse and Nieuwerkerk. On the edge of the village lies an expansive creek area, a valuable nature reserve that is not accessible to the public.

Standbeeld Johannes Vijverberg

Johannes Vijverberg (1880–1965) was a teacher and pioneer in bird photography. He photographed more than a hundred bird species and wrote books and articles about nature. His work was internationally recognized and continues to influence nature photography and ornithology.

Voordelta

Discover the Voordelta: a unique coastal area stretching from the Maasvlakte to the tip of Walcheren. The importance of this region on a European scale is unprecedented, with rare seals and special bird and fish species finding their home here.

Kerkwerve

Kerkwerve is a village on Schouwen-Duiveland with around 990 inhabitants. It originated around 1200 during the diking of Schouwen. The church is built on a mound, which explains the name. Until 1997, Kerkwerve was part of Middenschouwen and has a historic municipal coat of arms.
